CAIRO, September 29, 2025:  UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan of the United Arab Emirates met with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in Cairo on Monday, where both leaders held official talks aimed at reinforcing bilateral relations and coordinating on pressing regional developments. The high-level meeting took place at Al-Ittihadiya Presidential Palace following the arrival of the UAE President at Cairo International Airport earlier in the day.

President El-Sisi personally received Sheikh Mohamed at the airport, marking the beginning of a fraternal visit that included discussions focused on economic cooperation, regional security, and Arab unity. During their talks, the two presidents reviewed the state of economic and investment ties between the UAE and Egypt, reaffirming their commitment to enhancing collaboration in sectors such as trade, infrastructure, energy, and development. The discussions also highlighted efforts by both governments to create a favorable environment for joint investments and to remove barriers that hinder business growth.

The leaders exchanged views on a range of regional and international issues, with particular attention given to the escalating humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip. Both heads of state expressed strong support for all international efforts aimed at achieving a ceasefire and ending the ongoing conflict. They reiterated their firm backing for a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict as the only framework capable of ensuring lasting peace and regional stability. President El-Sisi and Sheikh Mohamed also discussed the importance of bolstering joint Arab action amid regional instability.

UAE and Egypt expand cooperation on economy and trade

They emphasized the need for a unified approach among Arab nations to confront challenges and preserve security and development across the Middle East. The leaders further underlined the strategic nature of Egyptian-Emirati relations, which span decades of cooperation across political, economic, and security spheres. The meeting came as diplomatic efforts intensified across the region following recent international calls for de-escalation in Gaza. Egypt and the UAE have remained active in multilateral platforms addressing the crisis, and both nations have hosted discussions with key regional and international actors in pursuit of coordinated humanitarian and diplomatic responses.

Accompanying Sheikh Mohamed on the visit were Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs; Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Adviser to the UAE President; and a number of ministers and senior officials. The delegation also engaged in bilateral meetings with their Egyptian counterparts, focusing on advancing strategic partnerships in trade, infrastructure, and energy cooperation. Following the conclusion of the talks, Sheikh Mohamed departed Cairo.

Strategic talks highlight long-term bilateral goals

President El-Sisi was present at the airport to bid him farewell, underscoring the close personal and diplomatic ties between the leaderships of both countries. The visit marked the continuation of high-level consultations between Egypt and the UAE, who maintain strong coordination on regional affairs and economic priorities. Both nations have consistently emphasized mutual support on core issues and have signed multiple agreements in recent years aimed at deepening ties in investment, logistics, and strategic industries.

The UAE and Egypt remain aligned in supporting diplomatic, economic, and humanitarian initiatives in the region, with their bilateral relationship serving as a cornerstone for broader Arab coordination on key geopolitical issues. Their shared approach enhances regional dialogue, fosters collective action in times of crisis, and supports sustainable development goals. Both nations continue to play pivotal roles in conflict resolution, peace-building efforts, and regional economic integration, reinforcing stability and cooperation across the Middle East. – By Content Syndication Services.
